March Offerings
DBT & Tea
March 10th | 1 PM PST
From time to time, we offer a bonus opportunity to connect and talk DBT skills, called “DBT & Tea.” DBT & Tea.
- Not recorded; live only
- For group planning, please send any questions you would like addressed to Kathryn at [email protected] with “DBT & Tea” in the subject line (or, you can post your question on the Q&A thread and include the hashtag #DBT&Tea.) These will be the questions we focus on.
- While we would love more group conversation and sharing, we are mindful of the limits of a large group and the needs for emotional safety; therefore, support and emotional responses toward other students can be expressed through emoticons under the “reactions” tab in Zoom if you relate to someone who is speaking and sharing.
- It is optional to turn your camera on for this offering.
Who may attend:
Actively enrolled students and graduates of DBT Path.
In this trauma-sensitive somatics class we’ll explore noticing and releasing stress held in the body.
This may include activities such as small (micro) movements (this is not an exercise class), mindfulness practices, meditation, and other complementary practices.
- Although not required, if you do not turn your cam on for this workshop, the teacher will not be able to provide you feedback if needed.
- This workshop is an experiential class that will run for 90-minutes
- This workshop will not be recorded because the practitioner needs to work with participants in real-time.
Who may attend:
Actively enrolled students and graduates of DBT Path.
***Please also download and review these instructions for your camera setup PRIOR to the workshop.
In this 90-minute workshop you will be led through an experience of listening to your wise mind through your body and putting that onto paper.
Based on the practice of Qoya, Kathryn will guide you through a gentle movement and journaling journey as you experiment with hearing wise mind.
Here at DBT Path we talk about wise mind and the body a lot so this workshop is an opportunity to have a real experience of how connected these parts of us are.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Body-centered practices to feel wise mind clearly
- Journaling prompts to anchor the wisdom you receive
- Guided movement that has no right or wrong way to do them– the idea is to have fun and feel good in your body
- No expectation of being seen while moving– you can turn your camera off or be out of sight for others
What to bring:
- A journal and pen
- Enough space to stand and move gently– at least 6 feet around you if possible, but you can do this with very little space as well
- Comfortable clothing that is not restrictive
Who may attend:
Actively enrolled students and graduates of DBT Path.
Will this be recorded?
Yes, but… when the recording is sent to registrants, it will only include Kathryn’s video feed.
